The former Kano State governor made the remarks after meeting with the NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, alongside governorship, senatorial and other candidates of the party at the Obidient Headquarters in Abuja.
Kwankwaso said the meeting focused on strategies to strengthen the party’s structures and expand its message beyond major cities by reaching Nigerians in rural communities.
According to him, the NDC is committed to deepening its grassroots presence through direct engagement with people across the country.
He said his political partnership with Obi was based on a shared commitment to addressing some of the major challenges affecting vulnerable Nigerians.
Kwankwaso identified poverty reduction, reducing the number of out-of-school children, supporting small and medium-sized businesses, improving national security and promoting national unity as key areas of focus.
He said, “Our dynamic partnership with His Excellency Peter Obi is rooted in a shared commitment to lifting vulnerable Nigerians out of poverty, reducing the number of out-of-school children, supporting small and medium-sized businesses, securing our nation, uniting our people, and moving Nigeria from consumption to production.”
The former governor added that the party would continue to strengthen its grassroots structures and take its message directly to rural communities as part of efforts to broaden its political reach and ensure that Nigerians outside major urban centres were included.
Despite the challenges confronting the country, Kwankwaso maintained an optimistic outlook on Nigeria’s future.
He ended his message with a brief but emphatic declaration: “Nigeria will be OK.”
