French Ambassador Praises Nigeria’s Anti-Narcotics Efforts, Donates Equipment To NDLEA

Marc Fonbaustier, the French ambassador to Nigeria, has praised the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for its achievements in combating drug-related crimes. He highlighted NDLEA’s success over four years, including 57,792 arrests, the seizure of 9.9 million kilograms of illicit substances, and 10,572 convictions. The ambassador noted that these achievements position Nigeria as a strong partner for collaboration with France in the fight against illicit drugs.

Marwa, in his remarks, expressed gratitude for the support and emphasized the importance of the donated equipment in enhancing the agency’s operations. He also discussed the need for specialized training in investigations and cyber transactions, along with support for an alternative development initiative aimed at transitioning cannabis farmers to other crops.
