El-Rufai Confirms Arrest of Close Associate Jafaru Sani in Kaduna, Reveals Details
Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has confirmed the arrest of his close associate and former commissioner, Jafaru Sani………READ MORE
In a statement on Thursday, El-Rufai alleged that Sani was apprehended in Kaduna by police officers acting on the orders of Governor Uba Sani. He described the arrest as politically motivated, claiming it was due to Sani’s recent defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
According to El-Rufai, Sani was remanded in prison by a magistrate without a formal police report or charges. He further stated that Sani is allegedly being investigated for money laundering, a federal offense beyond the jurisdiction of the state police and judiciary.
El-Rufai also accused the Kaduna State judiciary of being compromised and cited a similar case involving another ally, Bashir Saidu, who was allegedly detained for 50 days before being released on bail. He warned that those responsible for these actions would be held accountable in due time.
