According to Ireporter Online, former Big Brother Naija housemate, Queen Mercy, has fired back at accusations that she was responsible for the collapse of her marriage, following a heated exchange with a follower on social media.

The controversy began after a social media user accused the reality TV star of failing to protect her home, claiming that people in the United States allegedly referred to her as a prostitute and doubted her ability to remain in a man’s house. The follower expressed frustration over repeatedly defending Queen online, only to now face mockery from those who had criticized her in the past.

As the exchange gained attention, another follower appealed for compassion, urging critics to stop attacking Queen while she navigates what was described as a difficult personal period.

Responding to the claims, Queen clarified that her last visit to the United States was between 2017 and 2018, long before she rose to fame. She explained that she only stayed briefly with her aunt in Houston before traveling to Florida for a beauty pageant. According to her, at that time she was merely a regular pageant contestant without public recognition, questioning how anyone could claim they saw her in the U.S. to label her negatively.

She revealed that she has endured several negative labels since her appearance on Big Brother Naija, with many acting as though she committed a crime during her time on the show.

Addressing allegations that she posted her wedding photos to spite her baby daddy, Queen explained that her actions were driven purely by excitement, describing it as a normal reaction from any bride pleased with her wedding experience.

She also dismissed claims that her movie roles suggested she was not fit for marriage, stating that she has only featured in a few films and has never acted in explicit kissing or highly romantic scenes. She challenged critics to provide proof if they believed otherwise and concluded by stating that being a “good girl” had never truly rewarded her in life.
