This is coming on the heels of the recent second reading of A Bill for an Act to Amend the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria Act, Cap. The body made this known in a press statement signed by its Ag Secretary, Eng Abbas Ibe.

“This is a laudable bill sponsored by Hon Idehen, no doubt allowing the menace of unqualified teaching to continue without stiffer consequences would result in a decline in educational standards.

All schools, regardless of their status, should adhere to the same criteria and requirements when appointing teaching staff to ensure that all pupils are afforded the same high standards of teaching. We sincerely  appreciate the efforts of the lawmaker as this would go a long way in shaping our kids right”

The body also acknowledged the efforts of the lawmaker in constructing quality blocks of classrooms for students across his constituency while applauding his present tour across schools distributing educational and instructional materials to the good people of Egor/Ikpoba Okha constituency.

“No education system can be better than the quality of its teachers. Being a teacher is not easy because for young kids after their parents it is the teacher who is their role model and that is the reason why the qualification and certification of our teachers should be paramount.”
