2027: Ganduje To Gov Yusuf — “You’ll Win Your Second Term” After APC Defection

According to Ireporter Online, the immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has assured Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, of a decisive victory in the 2027 governorship election.

Governor Yusuf formally joined the APC on Monday after resigning from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), a political move that has sparked significant realignments in Kano State, with several elected officials and party loyalists defecting alongside him.

While receiving the governor into the party, Ganduje described Yusuf’s return as historic, pledging the APC’s full backing for his re-election bid. He noted that Yusuf was among the early members of the APC during its formative period but later exited due to political disagreements and shifting alignments.

Ganduje expressed confidence in Yusuf’s political ideology and leadership style, stating that the governor embodies the progressive values of the APC. He disclosed that consultations had been held with other aspirants within the party, all of whom had agreed to support Yusuf’s second-term ambition.

He further explained that, in line with established APC tradition, all sitting governors automatically assume leadership of the party in their respective states, thereby affirming Yusuf as the APC leader in Kano State.

Ganduje also assured that the APC would record victory at both state and federal levels in 2027, expressing optimism that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would secure re-election alongside Governor Yusuf, with the party standing firmly behind both leaders.
