SP Williams Aya, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), revealed this development in a statement issued on Thursday, May 16.

Previously, 24 students had been abducted, with 14 already rescued, according to police authorities.

In a bid to intensify rescue efforts and combat criminal activities in the state, Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, deployed the Air Component of Police Security Apparatus, including a trained helicopter crew for aerial surveillance, monitoring team, and Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU).

“The diligence and indomitable spirit of all the combined team led to the rescue of additional seven victims, bringing the total to 21,” stated SP Williams Aya.

He emphasized the ongoing commitment to ensuring the safe rescue of all abducted students and bringing the perpetrators to justice, with full support from the Kogi State Government and the university community.
