Adeleke Launches N16.5 Billion Dual Carriageway Project In Ilesa

Adeleke disclosed that the dual carriageway, equipped with a median, would feature solar street lights, walkways, and boulevards at certain sections, enhancing the aesthetics and functionality of the area. Additionally, he outlined plans for the rehabilitation of 16.5 kilometers of roads across the Osun East Senatorial District.

Addressing residents near the construction site, Adeleke emphasized the importance of their cooperation and support for the construction companies engaged in the project. He urged contractors to maintain harmonious relations with the local community throughout the project’s duration.

“We are commencing the dualization of this road, which we expect to be completed within 12 months. This 6.2-kilometer road, featuring 9.0-meter-wide carriageways with a median, illuminated with solar street lights, walkways, and boulevards, will enhance the splendor of Ijesha land,” Adeleke stated.

He further detailed the project’s cost, revealing that it is divided into two sections awarded to Horizon Nigeria Limited and Showie-tee Global Services Limited, respectively, following due procurement processes.

Aside from the dual carriageway and other infrastructure projects, the government plans to construct over 16.5 kilometers of roads across the Eastern Senatorial district, allocating 1.5 kilometers per local government area.

Adeleke emphasized the role of the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure in supervising the project and ensuring adherence to the highest standards of project management, monitoring, and evaluation.
