The crisis, stemming from allegations of corruption, financial mismanagement, and high-handedness, has prompted staff members to call on Governor Monday Okpebholo to intervene. In a letter addressed to the governor and other key state officials, employees detailed the suspended officials’ defiance, claiming they continued to hold meetings, issue directives, and obstruct institutional processes.

The staff further alleged acts of intimidation, unlawful disciplinary measures, and interference with promotions. Concerns about unauthorized appointments and a hostile work environment were also raised.

Staff members have urged swift action to restore order and safeguard the university’s reputation as a world-class institution, warning of potential brain drain if the situation persists.
