Barrister Sunday Nwankwo, the chairman of the council, announced the decision during a visit by stakeholders of Ikwo Noyo clan to the Vice-Chancellor of AE-FUNAI, Professor Sunday Elom.

Nwankwo emphasized the importance of strengthening the existing relationship between the university and the local community and proposed the establishment of an inter-security agency team. This team, he explained, would foster private and public partnerships to enhance security measures and advance developmental plans.

In response, Professor Sunday Elom expressed gratitude for the support of the council in ensuring security and development within Ikwo LGA and the university vicinity. He pledged the university management’s commitment to collaborating with stakeholders to address challenges facing both institutions.

Additionally, Professor Elom promised to explore discussions regarding the establishment of primary and secondary schools and an inter-community development committee, as requested by the stakeholders. He highlighted ongoing initiatives, such as the commencement of AE-FUNAI primary and secondary schools, and assured the stakeholders of increased opportunities for admission and employment for Ikwo indigenes.

The decision to form a Joint Inter-Security Team underscores the collective effort to tackle the prevalent violence and insecurity in Ebonyi State, reflecting a proactive approach to safeguarding lives and property in the region.
