Nigeria suffered a 2-1 loss to the hosts, Cote d’Ivoire, on Sunday.

Expressing his sentiments via his X account, Bovi attributed the defeat of the three-time African champions to coach Peseiro’s tactics.

He criticized Peseiro’s approach of prioritizing defense over offense, emphasizing that he would have still been dissatisfied even if Nigeria had emerged victorious.

Bovi expressed: “Hold the coach accountable. We are known for our footballing finesse. Fluidity, precision passes, dribbling, attacking. Not solely defensive play. Even if we had clinched victory, I’d remain discontent. The approach clearly did not resonate with the
