In response to inquiries about why the team opted to absorb pressure after taking a one-goal lead, Peseiro explained:

“When you have a system that has proven effective, there’s reluctance to alter it unnecessarily. I adhered to this strategy until we fell behind 2-1, at which point I opted for a change.

“We conceded goals due to defensive errors and experienced a decline in performance against the Ivorians.”
