Les Elephants secured a 2-1 victory over Jose Peseiro’s squad in the final match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan, on Sunday night.

This marked the third AFCON title for the West African nation.

“We observed that the Nigerian players seemed fatigued in the first half. They did not display their usual level of performance,” Fae remarked following the match.

“I instructed my players during the halftime interval to elevate the intensity of our gameplay, and it paid off handsomely for us.

“Although it was a challenging match, the positive aspect is that we emerged victorious in the end.”
