During a public lecture and book launch celebrating Wike’s birthday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Akpabio expressed his bewilderment at the idea of anyone having a conflict with the former governor.

He remarked, “I was discussing this with one of my colleagues, and I told him I do not understand why anyone would quarrel with Wike. If he raises his voice while we’re together, by the time I reach the door, he forgets it all. He’ll be the one to call me later and ask, ‘When are you coming over for lunch?’ as if nothing happened.”

In his reply, Wike stated that he remains unfazed by the criticism and does not pay attention to his detractors. He expressed gratitude for the support he received, particularly from President Bola Tinubu, and emphasized that the negativity directed at him stems from his opponents.

Wike added, “For me, what’s important is knowing what you want to achieve and how to accomplish it. I assure you, we will continue to make you proud. I will not be distracted from my goal of delivering positive outcomes for the public.”

He noted that while criticism exists, he remains unaware of it, stating, “Frankly, I don’t see or hear my critics, so I cannot respond to them.
