In a viral video released on Saturday, Akpata disclosed that the interactive session, organized by the University of Benin Staff Club, was disrupted by hoodlums purportedly sent by the said official. He recounted the violence that ensued within the school premises during the event.

Contrary to allegations that his security aides shot a UNIBEN student, Akpata refuted the claims, emphasizing that the accusations were unfounded.

Describing the disruption of the event as shocking, Akpata highlighted the intervention of security agents who facilitated his safe departure from the scene after removing barricades created by the hoodlums.

Asserting that the incident occurred amidst the election season and insinuating political motives behind the attack, Akpata directly addressed the senior government official allegedly involved, calling for accountability.

Meanwhile, the Edo State Government condemned the attack on Akpata at UNIBEN, emphasizing its commitment to investigating the issue and warning against violence and irresponsible behavior associated with the incident.
