APC Addresses Speculations, Asserts No Conflict Between Obasa And Seyi Tinubu Over Guber Ambitions
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected any rumors or endorsements concerning the 2027 governorship race, stating that such matters are premature and not part of its current agenda. Speculation has been rife about the possible gubernatorial...READ MORE…
ambitions of Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, and the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa.
In a statement to Daily Trust, the APC’s State Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, dismissed the speculation, attributing it to opposition parties trying to stir unnecessary controversy. “The party has not made any statement regarding the 2027 election. Our focus now is on effective governance, not engaging in premature politicking,” Oladejo said.
He also clarified that there is no rivalry between Seyi Tinubu, Obasa, or any other prospective candidates within the APC. “There has been no indication from the Speaker that he is in competition with Seyi Tinubu or any other party members. This is a manufactured issue by the opposition to incite unnecessary sentiments,” he added.
Oladejo further emphasized that the party’s attention is currently on the upcoming 2025 congress and local government elections, urging members to prioritize unity and progress.
In response, the Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the PDP, Philip Aivoji, distanced his party from the alleged endorsements. “As stated by the APC, the Lagos governorship race is not a trivial matter. It’s not for me to comment further. People can speculate all they want,” Aivoji remarked.
When questioned about Oladejo’s accusations regarding the opposition’s involvement, Aivoji replied, “I’m not behind any of these rumors. Anyone who is spreading such negativity about Lagos State is acting on their own.”
