APC Drops Full List Of Lagos Assembly, Reps Candidates For 2027 Elections

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially unveiled its candidates for the 2027 House of Representatives and Lagos State House of Assembly elections following the completion of the party’s primary elections.

According to reports, the list was made public on Monday through a notice signed by the Lagos APC Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, confirming the emergence of 24 candidates for the House of Representatives and 40 candidates for the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Among the notable figures cleared to represent the party in the House of Representatives election are Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, who secured the Agege Federal Constituency ticket, James Abiodun Faleke for Ikeja Federal Constituency, and Babajimi Benson for Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

In Alimosho Federal Constituency, Olabisi Adebanjo emerged as the APC candidate, becoming the only female aspirant among the party’s 24 House of Representatives candidates announced for the 2027 polls.

For the Lagos State House of Assembly elections, several prominent politicians also secured tickets. Deputy Speaker Mojisola Meranda clinched the Apapa Constituency I ticket, while Barakat Bakare-Odunuga emerged victorious in Surulere I after defeating incumbent lawmaker Desmond Elliott.

Damilola Ayinde-Marshall, daughter of renowned Fuji musician King Ayinde Wasiu, also secured the APC ticket for Surulere II.

Other successful aspirants include Saheed Bankole for Eti-Osa I, Gbolahan Yishawu for Eti-Osa II, Oladipo Olayinka Ajomale for Oshodi-Isolo I, and Mayowa Alakija for Oshodi-Isolo II.

In Ikorodu, Toyin Gafar and Moshood Aro emerged victorious for Ikorodu Constituencies I and II respectively, while Orekoya Abiodun and Moruf Alli-Balogun secured the Somolu I and II tickets.

Temitope Adewale and Rasheed Lanre Makinde won the APC tickets for Ifako-Ijaiye I and II, while Oluwaseun Adebisi Ege and Suraju Tijani emerged for Ojo Constituencies I and II.

For Ikeja Constituencies I and II, Adedamola Kasumu and Adeseyi Lawal clinched the party’s tickets, while Saad Olumoh and Sabur Akanbi Oluwa secured victories in Ajeromi-Ifelodun I and II respectively.

On Lagos Island, Lara Olumegbon-Lawal emerged for Constituency I, while Yusuf Nurudeen Abiodun won the Lagos Island II ticket. Olatunji Lukmon Jimoh-Orelope and Joseph Kehinde also secured the APC tickets for Alimosho Constituencies I and II.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that the party’s Appeals Committee established to address complaints arising from the primaries was still reviewing petitions submitted by aggrieved aspirants as of the time of filing this report.
