Aregbesola Urges ADC Members To Focus On Issues, Avoid Personal Attacks

The Interim National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, has appealed to party members and supporters to steer clear of personal insults and political squabbles, urging them instead to prioritize issue-based engagements that address governance and national development.

Speaking to a large crowd that gathered to welcome him at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos on Friday, the former Minister of the Interior emphasized that political debates must be anchored in facts, not hostility.

“You don’t have to fight or abuse anyone,” Aregbesola said. “When they insult or call you names, do not retaliate. Simply ask if the lives of Nigerians are better today than before.”

Aregbesola, who also served two terms as governor of Osun State, encouraged ADC members to seize opportunities to question the current administration’s handling of key economic challenges, including rising food prices, inflation, poverty, and overall living conditions.

“Let your conversations focus on the economy, food inflation, and the increasing cost of living. Make your debates issues-based,” he advised.

In a statement issued by Abosede Oluwaseun, Organising and Publicity Secretary of Omoluabi Progressives—Aregbesola’s political group—the ADC chieftain maintained that the party provides Nigerians with a credible and much-needed alternative.

“Tell Nigerians where we stand on these critical issues and why our new party, the ADC, offers a vital path forward for the country’s future growth and stability,” Aregbesola said.
