Nigerian luxury influencer Waris Olayinka Akinwande Osunkoya, popularly known as Ola of Lagos, has revealed how popular blogger and social media personality Tunde Ednut played a major role in helping him earn his first ₦2 million.

Ola of Lagos made the revelation during a recent interview on the KK Show, where he recalled receiving the substantial sum during one of Tunde Ednut’s livestreams in 2021.

According to the influencer, the money represented the first time he had seen such a large amount reflected in his bank account. He said the experience overwhelmed him to the extent that he temporarily fled his home.

Reflecting on the moment, Ola explained that he was unfamiliar with having millions of naira in his account and struggled to process the sudden financial change.

He further disclosed that the following day, he went as far as hiring bouncers because of the large balance in his account.

“First time seeing that money. But guess what? I didn’t squander all the money,” he said.

Ola of Lagos has since become one of Nigeria’s prominent luxury and automobile content creators, known for his energetic reviews of exotic vehicles.

His journey to prominence began from humble circumstances. Originally from Ogun State, he relocated to Lagos, where he worked as a labourer and later as a cleaner in areas including Ikoyi and Lekki.

He reportedly earned as little as ₦17,000 monthly while working those jobs before beginning to record and share videos of luxury cars using a small mobile phone.

His distinctive presentation style and consistency eventually attracted the attention of Tunde Ednut, who shared some of his videos with a wider audience on social media.

The exposure helped propel Ola of Lagos into the public spotlight and contributed to his emergence as a recognised luxury lifestyle influencer in Nigeria.
