Benue State University VC Raises Alarm Over Church Trespassing on University Grounds

The Vice-Chancellor of Benue State University (BSU), Makurdi, Prof. Tor Iorapuu, has raised concerns over the unauthorized encroachment on the university’s land by Mission House International Church.  Prof. Iorapuu, who led a team to inspect the affected area near River Benue in Makurdi on Friday, lamented that the encroachment had persisted for years, despite efforts by previous administrations to stop it. Authorities Take Action
The General Manager of the Benue State Urban Development Board (BSUDB), Ter Mede, confirmed that:

BSU was officially allocated 202 hectares of land.

Mission House International Church was only approved 1.7 hectares but allegedly exceeded its boundary.

Mede vowed to escalate the matter to Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, to ensure the church ceases further encroachment on university land.
