BREAKING: Court Gives DSS Fresh Order On Emefiele (DETAILS)
A Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja has issued an order to the Department of State Services (DSS) to either charge the suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, to court within one week or release him from detention.
The court’s order came during a hearing for a fundamental human rights suit filed by Emefiele to contest his arrest and detention by the DSS. Following his suspension by President Bola Tinubu, Emefiele was arrested by the DSS on June 10 and has been held in detention since then.
In the suit, which was filed on behalf of Emefiele by his lawyer, Joseph Daudu (SAN), he alleges a violation of his human rights.
