BREAKING: Court Grants Emefiele Bail (SEE BAIL CONDITIONS)

Justice Hamza Muazu of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja has granted bail to the former Governor of the Central Bank, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, in the sum of N300 million and two sureties in like sum.

The sureties must possess certificates of occupancy and titles of properties within the Maitama District.

Emefiele is required to deposit all his travel documents with the court registrar and stay within the Abuja Municipal Council.

Until he meets the bail conditions, he is to remain in the Kuje Correctional Centre.

Emefiele faces a six-count charge of alleged procurement fraud related to the purchase of vehicles.

The case is adjourned for a ruling on bail and trial commencement on November 22 and 28, respectively. Emefiele was taken to the Kuje Correctional Centre in the interim.
