alleged gross misconduct. Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Jude Okpor, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.

Okpor explained that the suspensions were decided during Monday’s State Executive Council meeting in Abakaliki, with Ekuma facing a three-month suspension and Ori an indefinite one due to dereliction of duties and other misconduct.

The decision follows the arrest of six Health Ministry employees accused of stealing government property. The suspects were apprehended Saturday night at the ministry’s premises while attempting to sell the stolen items.

Governor Nwifuru, who condemned the incident as an act of sabotage, ordered their prosecution. His administration views such actions as a direct threat to ongoing efforts to enhance the state’s healthcare sector.
