Odefa Obasi Odefa, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), along with approximately 500 supporters from the Onicha East Constituency.

The announcement was made during a visit to Governor Ogbonnaya Nwifuru at the Government House in Abakaliki.

Odefa stated that his decision to join the APC was motivated by a desire to support the governor’s efforts in transforming the state, having observed the governor’s positive intentions outlined in his manifesto.

Governor Nwifuru, in response, welcomed Odefa and his supporters, emphasizing that the APC’s doors are open to individuals with good intentions.

He assured the defectors of a fair and level playing field within the APC and urged them to collaborate in the development of the state.

It’s worth noting that Odefa Obasi Odefa served as the representative for Onicha East in the State House of Assembly from 2007 to 2023, holding the position of deputy speaker during his tenure.
