Breaking: INEC Delays Ondo Election Results As APC’s Aiyedatiwa Holds Commanding Lead

The announcement was made by the Returning Officer, Prof. Olayemi Akinwunmi, who also serves as Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lokoja. He explained that the postponement was necessary to allow for the arrival of results from the remaining five local government areas: Akure North, Okitipupa, Odigbo, Ilaje, and Ese-Odo.

“We have five more local governments to collate, but we are taking a break until 12:00 p.m. to ensure we receive all remaining results,” Akinwunmi stated.

So far, INEC has announced results from 13 out of 18 local government areas, with APC candidate Aiyedatiwa leading with 259,851 votes. His closest rival, PDP’s Agboola Ajayi, trails significantly with 81,031 votes.

The resumption of the collation process at noon is expected to confirm the final outcome of the tightly contested election.
