BREAKING: Okpebholo Officially Sworn-In As Edo State Governor
at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City on Tuesday, following the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the September 21, 2024 governorship elections.
Okpebholo emerged victorious after defeating his closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party, securing his place as the fifth governor of Edo State since the Fourth Republic began in 1999. The inauguration ceremony attracted a wide range of dignitaries, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, and former Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu. Notable figures like Senator Adams Oshiomhole and Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo also attended the historic event.
