The Kaduna State Police Command, in collaboration with the Kaduna State Vigilance Service, has destroyed two suspected bandit camps in Makarfi Local Government Area during a weekend clearance operation.

According to Ireporter Online, the operation followed intelligence provided by residents concerning the activities of suspected bandits operating around Durum and Danguzuri, extending towards the Kaduna-Kano boundary.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, disclosed that security personnel moved into the affected areas after receiving credible information from members of the communities.

He said the operation resulted in the discovery and destruction of two structures allegedly being used by the suspected bandits as hideouts and locations for holding abducted victims.

The structures were reportedly located at Rugar Mijin Goggo and Unguwar Maryamu in Danguzuri.

The police said the operation formed part of ongoing efforts to restrict the activities of bandits and other criminal elements and prevent them from establishing operational bases within communities.

Security personnel have reportedly continued patrols and surveillance across the affected areas to prevent the suspected criminals from regrouping or launching further attacks.

The Command said the situation in the communities had remained calm following the operation, with normal activities gradually returning.
