In response to the defection, the PDP, through its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, issued a statement on Monday directing the Speaker to declare the seats vacant.
The party urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to promptly initiate fresh elections in the constituencies of the 27 lawmakers.
The PDP argued that the defection led to the vacancy of the lawmakers’ seats, citing Section 109 (1)(g) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as amended.
