Carabao Cup: Liverpool Draw Tottenham In Third Round

According to Ireporter Online, the fixture emerged as one of the biggest ties from the third-round draw, which features nine Premier League clubs competing in European competitions.

Holders Manchester City will begin their title defence at home against Norwich City, while Manchester United have been drawn against Brighton.

Arsenal will travel to Ipswich Town, Aston Villa will visit Coventry City, and Bournemouth will host League One outfit Lincoln City.

Liverpool entered the competition at the third-round stage because of their European commitments, while Tottenham secured their place with a convincing 5-1 victory over Championship side Charlton Athletic.

The third-round ties are scheduled to be played across the weeks beginning September 7 and September 14, with fixtures arranged to avoid clashes with Champions League and Europa League matches.

The complete draw includes Crystal Palace versus Middlesbrough, Manchester United versus Brighton, Manchester City versus Norwich City, Sunderland versus Hull City and Ipswich Town versus Arsenal.

Coventry City will face Aston Villa, Bournemouth will host Lincoln City, while Liverpool will welcome Tottenham Hotspur.

Other fixtures are Millwall versus Newcastle United, Fleetwood Town versus Sheffield United, Everton versus Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leyton Orient versus Bradford City, Reading versus Brentford and Peterborough United versus Barnsley.

West Ham United will face either Fulham or AFC Wimbledon, while Chelsea or Luton Town will take on Leeds United.

The remaining two fixtures will be confirmed after Chelsea’s meeting with Luton Town and Fulham’s clash with AFC Wimbledon.
