Tinubu Meets APC Governors At Aso Rock

President Bola Tinubu on Thursday held a closed-door meeting with governors elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the State House in Abuja.

According to Ireporter Online, the meeting with members of the Progressives Governors’ Forum commenced shortly after 3:00 p.m. at the presidential residence.

The governors arrived at Aso Rock after participating in an earlier session of the National Economic Council, chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Details of the discussions between the President and the APC governors were not immediately disclosed, as the meeting was held behind closed doors.

The engagement comes amid increased political activities within the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the APC seeking to strengthen coordination and unity among its leaders across the country.

Political campaigns for the 2027 elections officially commenced eight days ago in line with the timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The meeting also follows the APC’s recent unveiling of its Presidential Campaign Council for the forthcoming election. Former Zamfara State Governor and serving Senator, Abdulaziz Yari, was named Director-General of the campaign council.

Meanwhile, the Presidency has clarified that the recently released APC Presidential Campaign Council list for the 2027 election will only be adjusted where necessary rather than subjected to a complete review.

President Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, made the clarification during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.
