Christmas Cow Kills Newly-Wed In Bayelsa

A cow scheduled for slaughter during the Christmas season escaped from its butchers, crashing into Sobokime Igodo, a former youth president of Obogoro Community who had recently married his fiancée in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

According to the Nigerian Tribune, the current Youth President of the community, Goodleaf Zimofu, the entire incident began when the community’s youths purchased a cow for the Christmas celebration.

According to reports, the Christmas cow charged at everyone in its path, and Mr Igodo was caught off guard because he was on the phone at the time.

A cow slated for slaughter during the Christmas season escaped from its butchers, crashing into Sobokime Igodo, a former youth president of Obogoro Community who had recently married his fiancée in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

According to Goodleaf Zimofu, the community’s current Youth President, the entire incident began when the youths of the community purchased a cow for the Christmas celebration.

The Christmas cow was said to have charged at everyone in its path, and Mr Igodo was caught off guard because he was on the phone at the time.

“All of a sudden, the cow got up and charged towards the deceased, kicked him so hard that he landed on his back and broke his spine.

“He was said to have been rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yenagoa before he was referred to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH). He later died on the way.”
