Mohammed ‘Ibeji’ Leads Foreign Pros To Flying Eagles

Coach Ladan Bosso has revealed that several Flying Eagles players who are now playing abroad will be called up for the U20 AFCON in Egypt.

Bosso mentioned Ibrahim Mohammed ‘Ibeji’ (winger, Cartegena/Spain), Ahmed Abdullahi (striker, Gent/Belgium), Lawal Samson (attacking midfielder, Germany), and Lekan Oyedele (left fullback, Feirense/Portugal).

Ibeji’ was a standout for the Flying Eagles when they won the WAFU B U20 AFCON qualifying tournament in Niger in May.

Bosso has stated that he requires experience in both central defense and attack.

The Flying Eagles training camp will reopen on January 7 before departing for a tour overseas in preparation for the U20 AFCON, which begins on February 19 in Egypt.

The Flying Eagles are in Group A, which includes hosts Egypt, Senegal, and Mozambique.

The U20 AFCON semifinalists will compete in the 2023 U20 FIFA World Cup in Indonesia in May.
