Despite being nominated in three categories, including Best Global Music Performance, Album of the Year, and Best African Music Performance, Davido failed to secure a win in any.

Expressing his heartfelt response on Instagram, Davido extended congratulations to the winner of the Best African Music Performance category, Tyla, a South African artist. In his post, he wrote, “Congratulations on your win Tyla, big one for Africa, keep soaring!”

Prior to the award ceremony, Davido shared his excitement in an interview with Billboard’s Tetris Kelly at the Pre-Grammy show. He emphasized the significance of having an African category, saying, “I am just happy that we all get to shine. What if there was no [African] category? So, at the end of the day, we should all be happy that we have this category, something to call our own. Whoever wins, it’s okay. If I win, we are celebrating. We go crazy.”
