The blaze, caused by the tanker transporting petroleum products, prompted an immediate response from the Oyo State Fire Service, supported by local security agencies, who worked to contain the fire and prevent its spread to surrounding commercial and residential areas. Moroof Akinwande, the Special Adviser on Fire Services Reform to Governor Seyi Makinde, confirmed the incident, stating that the distress call was received at 5:15 am and that the situation was brought under control shortly thereafter.
