Don’t Take Christians For Granted’ – Enenche Fires Warning At Jingir

The Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Paul Enenche, has reacted to controversial comments attributed to Islamic cleric Sheikh Yahya Jingir concerning Christians and religious demographics in Nigeria.

According to Ireporter Online, Jingir had described Christians as infidels and claimed that Muslims are more numerous than Christians in the country.

Reacting during a sermon at the church’s headquarters in Abuja on Sunday, Enenche challenged the Federal Government to conduct a credible national population census that would accurately determine the religious composition of the country.

The cleric questioned why a reliable census had not been conducted to establish the actual population figures, arguing that such an exercise would provide clarity on the number of Christians and Muslims across the country.

Enenche said a credible census should allow citizens to freely identify their religious affiliations, adding that the outcome could challenge assumptions about which religious group constitutes the majority in different parts of Nigeria.

The pastor also issued a strong warning against what he described as attempts to undermine or disregard Christians and the church in Nigeria.

He maintained that Christians should not be treated as insignificant and cautioned those making statements or taking actions that could undermine the church to reconsider their approach.

Enenche further expressed concern over the continued security challenges and bloodshed in the country, questioning the contributions of those he accused of worsening Nigeria’s problems.

He urged Nigerians to focus on issues that promote national development, peace and unity rather than engaging in religious comparisons or rhetoric capable of deepening divisions.
