Speaking at the convocation lecture of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Abbas highlighted inconsistencies in academic standards across universities, which, he noted, have affected the credibility of Nigerian degrees in the international job market.

Abbas further argued that the lack of standardized testing has led to disparities in academic rigor, making it difficult to fairly evaluate graduates’ competencies.
