An examination of the 2024 budget by Daily Trust reveals that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has earmarked substantial funds for various expenditures. Further breakdown of the budget indicates that the EFCC has set aside N173.6 million for international travel and transport, alongside other allocations.

The acquisition of new vehicles will incur an expenditure of N413 million, while N164.3 million is designated for fueling the commission’s vehicles. Additionally, N273.3 million is budgeted for fueling generators.

Other planned expenditures encompass N156.8 million for electricity charges, N271.2 million for security operations, and N186.6 million for legal services.

The budget also allocates N71.3 million for meals and refreshments, N413.7 million for the purchase of fittings and shelves for headquarters and zonal commands, and N352.1 million for the maintenance of office buildings and residential quarters.

Furthermore, N65.2 million will be utilized for printing security documents, with an additional N46 million for non-security document printing. A sum of N44.1 million is allocated for “annual budget expenses and administration.” The EFCC’s budget also includes N455 million for insurance premiums.
