Olukoyede emphasized that President Bola Tinubu’s political will to combat economic and financial crimes ensures no immunity for corrupt individuals.
Olukoyede stressed that President Tinubu has created a conducive environment for anti-graft activities, making it clear that no Nigerian is exempt from investigations for any corruption allegation. He stated, “Nobody is too big to be investigated in this country. Once you are not playing according to the rules, we will investigate you.”
The EFCC Chairman highlighted the collaborative efforts between EFCC and ICPC, emphasizing the subsisting Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two agencies.
Olukoyede emphasized the need for collaboration due to the enormity of cases handled by both agencies, pointing out that despite the existence of multiple anti-corruption agencies in Nigeria, their combined staff strength is considerably smaller than a single anti-corruption agency in the U.S.
The ICPC Chairman, Dr Musa Aliyu, echoed the importance of understanding and synergy between the two commissions.
He expressed readiness for collaboration, emphasizing the existing MoU and the need for regular meetings to strengthen their relationship in the fight against corruption.
