El-Rufai Reveals He’s Ready For Presidency, But Still Not In Consultation Mode

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has addressed rumors suggesting that his recent political activities are aimed at preparing for a presidential run in 2027. He remarked, “Anyone above the age of 35 with a secondary school certificate is eligible to run for president. So, in that regard, I am qualified. However, I have not started speaking to anyone about running for any office.”

These comments come amid widespread speculation about his potential presidential bid, fueled by his recent meetings with political leaders across various parties.

Additionally, El-Rufai announced that he would not be attending the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday. He cited insufficient notice and prior commitments, questioning whether the meeting adhered to the party’s constitution, which mandates a 21-day notice for such gatherings.
