Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of sponsoring crises in the PDP, NNPP, and Labour Party. A shocking claim, but also an outright ridiculous one—and we’re about to tell you why.

Crisis in PDP, NNPP, and LP: Who Caused It?

First off, let’s get something straight. Nigerians already know that the crisis rocking the PDP, LP, and NNPP did not start today—it has been brewing since the fallout of the 2023 general elections.

PDP: Let’s talk about them. This is a party that never recovered from the civil war between Atiku Abubakar and the G5 governors. The cracks were so deep that PDP practically walked into the elections divided, with some of its key leaders either secretly or openly working against their own candidate.
➡️ After losing the elections, the party collapsed into factional wars—one camp loyal to Atiku, another to Wike, another seeking a new direction entirely.
➡️ And let’s not forget the ongoing court battles, suspensions, and counter-suspensions.

Now tell me—is Tinubu responsible for that?

NNPP: If we turn to the Kwankwaso-led NNPP, it’s the same story. Kwankwaso hijacked the party structure all to himself , sidelined its co-original founders, and by the time they realized what had happened, it was already a one-man show.
➡️ Internal fights over party ownership have crippled the NNPP from making any progress since the elections.
➡️ Even Rabiu Kwankwaso himself was caught in a political gamble, jumping in and out of alliances.

Again, is that Tinubu’s fault?

Labour Party: Ah, now this one is even funnier. The Labour Party is currently at war with itself—and not because of any external influence, but because of a power struggle between Peter Obi and the party’s national leadership.
➡️ There have been allegations of financial mismanagement, internal betrayals, and a lack of clear leadership.
➡️ Obi’s own people are accusing the party chairman of selling out, while the chairman is accusing Obi’s camp of trying to hijack the party.

Again, wetin concern Tinubu for here?

So why is El-Rufai making these baseless accusations? Simple—he is bitter.

Here is a man who has enjoyed power his entire political career, from:
✅ BPE under Obasanjo
✅ FCT Minister under Obasanjo
✅ Governor of Kaduna for 8 years under Buhari

Yet, just two years after leaving office, he is already restless. Because he was denied a ministerial position, he has suddenly become a political activist, running from APC to SDP and now throwing wild, unsubstantiated accusations.

Meanwhile, Tinubu himself has faced worse political battles.

He was almost politically sidelined under Buhari
Yet, he never turned against his party or his allies.
Tinubu played the long game, and today, he is the President. El-Rufai, on the other hand, lacks patience.

And now, he thinks he can lead a rebellion against Tinubu in the North?

A man whose party lost Kaduna in the last elections?
A man who couldn’t even secure the three senatorial seats in his own state?
A man whose successor barely scraped through with victory?
If El-Rufai was as politically powerful as he claims, his party wouldn’t have been embarrassed in Kaduna.

El-Rufai’s latest stunt is nothing but political frustration. He is searching for relevance and trying to position himself for 2027. But Nigerians see through it all.

The PDP’s crisis is from Atiku vs. Wike.
The NNPP’s crisis is from Kwankwaso’s solo takeover.
The LP’s crisis is from Obi’s clash with the party leadership.

If Tinubu had such power to control opposition parties, then maybe they were never strong in the first place.
So, let’s be clear: this is not about Tinubu causing crisis—it’s about opposition parties failing to hold themselves together.
