Earlier today, on March 5, 2024, Instagram and Facebook, both owned by Meta, grappled with server malfunctions, resulting in temporary logouts for users. Concurrently, X operated without a hitch.

The Head of Communications at Meta, Andy Stone, utilized Elon Musk’s platform to communicate the server outage.

“We are aware that users are experiencing difficulties accessing our services. We are actively addressing the issue,” he penned.

In response to his competitors’ plight, Elon Musk shared a post on X, stating: “If you’re able to view this post, it’s because our servers are fully operational.”

The American entrepreneur of South African descent didn’t stop there; he utilized Andy Stone’s post to caricature Meta’s platforms.

After the resolution of the issue, Andy Stone revisited X to elucidate the sudden downtime of Instagram and Facebook.

He articulated: “Earlier today, a technical glitch resulted in users experiencing accessibility issues with some of our services. We swiftly resolved the matter for all affected users, and we extend our apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
