Emirates Airlines Set To Resume Operations In Nigeria On October 1

The airline made this announcement via its official X handle on Thursday, May 16, expressing its excitement to resume services to Lagos.

“We’re back, Nigeria! We’ll be resuming services to Lagos from 1 October 2024, and we can’t wait to offer unrivalled connectivity to Dubai and beyond to over 140 cities,” the airline stated.

In a statement released, Emirates revealed that it will operate a daily service between Lagos and Dubai, providing customers with more options and connectivity from Nigeria’s largest city to Dubai and beyond.

Emirates suspended flight operations to Nigeria in November 2022 due to challenges in repatriating its $85 million revenue trapped in the country. This suspension marked the second time the airline had halted flights to Nigeria over the issue of unrepatriated funds, with the first instance occurring in August 2022.
