Etinosa Idemudia Reveals How Mercy Johnson Protected Her From Threats By Her Ex-Husband

According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian actress Etinosa Idemudia has revealed how fellow actress Mercy Johnson intervened to protect her after she received threats from her ex-husband.

Etinosa explained in an interview that the threats began after she discussed her past relationship during a media appearance. She said her ex-husband became upset when portions of the interview were misrepresented, leading him to threaten her safety.

Initially, Etinosa tried to handle the situation privately, but the threats escalated, prompting her to reach out on social media for assistance. Mercy Johnson responded and, leveraging her military connections, escalated the matter to the Chief of Naval Staff. This intervention prompted authorities in Abuja to get involved, ensuring that her ex-husband could no longer harass her.

Reflecting on the experience, Etinosa stated that during a film interview for Stormy Heart, she had candidly spoken about a past relationship. She said, “The media house left everything I said about the film and instead focused on marriage aspects. My ex-husband called me, claiming I was damaging his career and began threatening me. When the situation worsened, I reached out on Instagram, and Mercy Johnson stepped in. She assured me she would forward the case to the Chief of Naval Staff, and soon, authorities contacted me to confirm that the matter was being handled and that I would no longer be harassed.”

Etinosa was previously married to Babatunde Solomon, a military officer, with their marriage ending between 2017 and 2018. She later married Benin-based lawyer Ighorosa, but they divorced in 2021 after having their first child.
