Reports suggesting that the National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, travelled abroad for medical treatment have been dismissed by the Kwankwasiyya Movement.

According to Ireporter Online, the movement described the claims, which gained traction across social media platforms, as false and misleading, insisting that the former Kano State governor’s trip had nothing to do with health concerns.

Reacting to the speculation, the spokesperson of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Mansur Kurugu, clarified that Kwankwaso left Nigeria on Thursday strictly for personal reasons and not for medical attention. He stressed that there was no basis for the rumour linking the trip to health-related issues.

Kurugu’s position was further reinforced by one of Kwankwaso’s media aides, Saifullahi Hassan, who attributed the reports to political detractors bent on spreading misinformation. In a statement shared via his official Facebook page, Hassan dismissed the claims as a calculated attempt to deceive the public.

Hassan also pointed out that Kwankwaso had been visibly active in Kano shortly before his departure, noting that the NNPP leader visited Singer Market on Thursday morning to sympathise with traders affected by a recent fire outbreak that destroyed shops and goods valued at millions of naira.
