Eze Claims Presidency Behind Wike’s Plot to Remove Fubara and Install Amaewhule in Rivers

Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a prominent APC chieftain in Rivers State, has condemned what he describes as an alleged plot to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara. He accuses the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, of orchestrating this plot with the support of the presidency. According to Eze, Wike’s aim is to replace Fubara with Speaker Martins Amaewhule to gain greater control over Rivers State politics ahead of the 2027 elections……….READ MORE

Eze strongly criticized the plan, claiming it would only strengthen Fubara’s position rather than weaken it. He warned that Wike’s influence in the presidency could harm President Tinubu’s political reputation, as he believes that Wike’s actions are destabilizing the state and undermining democratic processes.

Additionally, Eze highlighted the political dynamics of Rivers State, noting that the state has traditionally been governed by leaders from the upland regions, and Fubara’s election as the first governor from the riverine axis is significant. He warned that removing Fubara would be seen as an attack on the Ijaw nation and other riverine groups in the state.

Eze also criticized Amaewhule and his fellow lawmakers for rejecting Fubara’s invitation to a peace meeting, further accusing them of undermining democracy and causing instability in the state. He emphasized that Rivers State is bigger than any individual, and urged lawmakers to stop sabotaging the state’s progress.
