Wike emphasized that Tinubu’s promise to serve Nigerians is being fulfilled through tangible progress that aims to restore citizens’ hope. He noted, “Good governance entails the provision of essential infrastructure, transparency, accountability, security, and quality health and education for the people. Everything we are doing in the FCT aligns with good governance.”

The minister expressed satisfaction with the positive reception from the people of Abuja, saying, “We are pleased that the people appreciate what we are doing. Their happiness is vital to us.”

Wike Reaffirms Commitment to Demolition Efforts Despite Protests

In related news, Wike has pledged to continue demolishing illegal structures in the FCT despite public protests. During a visit to the Ruga community near the Wuye area of Abuja, Wike stated that no amount of protest would halt the development plans.

He further assured that his administration would engage with the occupants of the shanties to find sustainable solutions and prevent future illegal settlements. Wike also criticized the recent protests, calling them a distraction and dismissing claims of land grabbing by the FCTA.
