Fear Grips Ministers As Presidential Aide Speaks On Those Tinubu Would Fire

After securing victory in the February 25 election, President Bola Tinubu dedicated his efforts to formulating well-defined objectives for each sector within the nation.

He is resolute in demanding excellence from his recently inaugurated ministers and will not tolerate any shortcomings, according to statements made by presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale on Monday.

Ngelale, the Senior Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, emphasized this during an appearance on Channels Television’s “Sunrise Daily.”

“The President has meticulously established the standards,” Ngelale stated. “The real challenge lies in implementation, and the President has demonstrated, just as he did during his tenure as the Governor of Lagos State, that he is unafraid to take decisive action, including swift consequences, to ensure the desired outcomes. Because, ultimately, in the event of this administration faltering, the blame will not fall on an individual minister or a group of ministers. It will be attributed to President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, and he is unwavering in his stance against failure.”

Ngelale conveyed that during the transitional period between Tinubu’s election as president-elect and his official inauguration on May 29, significant efforts were directed at establishing “a range of reform committees spanning various sectors.”

“[Tinubu] carefully assessed the accomplishments of His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, and articulated a plan to build upon these achievements,” Ngelale clarified.

“We are committed to methodically implementing a strategy within a specific timeframe, guided by predefined milestones. This allows us to evaluate the performance of each minister within the context of the timeframe set by the President. Each incoming minister is well aware of the specific objectives they must achieve within the stipulated timeframe. This approach marks a departure from the historical practices in Nigerian governance.”
