Hannatu Musawa Reacts To Viral Statement On NYSC Status
The Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, has denied issuing a statement related to the controversy surrounding her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) status, which was falsely attributed to her.
In response to media reports on Sunday, where a statement supposedly from Ms. Musawa was published claiming that she had not violated any laws by concurrently holding a ministerial position and engaging in national service, the minister disowned the statement.

A statement issued by Suleiman Haruna, the Deputy Director of Press at the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, clarified the situation. He conveyed Ms. Musawa’s message that the circulated statement was not authored by her, and she distanced herself from its contents.
Mr. Haruna quoted the minister as saying, “I want to clarify that I have not officially commented on the current matter and request the public to be cautious when encountering unverified information.”
This clarification comes as Ms. Musawa seeks to address any misinformation surrounding her involvement in the ongoing NYSC discussion.
