Federal Government Reaffirms Commitment To Affordable Housing For Civil Servants

Dr. Folasade Yemi Esan, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, reaffirmed this pledge during a site inspection of an ongoing construction project comprising 116 housing units of two-bedroom semi-detached bungalows in Gwagwalada. These homes are intended for allocation to core civil servants upon completion.
Yemi-Esan emphasized the importance of expediting the provision of essential amenities such as electricity, water, and internal road networks within the housing estate. The project, fully funded by the Federal Government Staff Housing Loans Board and undertaken in collaboration with real estate developers, is anticipated to be commissioned in June as part of the 2024 Civil Service Week celebrations.
Alhaji Ibrahim Mairiga, the Executive Secretary of the Federal Government Staff Housing Loans Board, revealed that two developers have already completed and delivered their buildings to the Board, marking significant progress in the initiative.
