The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations revealed these staggering figures on Monday, underscoring the scale of the disaster. In the hardest-hit Orenburg Region alone, more than 6,100 people have been evacuated, with 33 temporary accommodation centers set up to shelter 33,000 displaced individuals.

According to the Orenburg Regional Government, the flood’s peak is anticipated to occur on April 10, with the situation along the Ural River not expected to normalize until April 25. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that over 18,000 people are in the zone threatened by flooding.

Reports from TASS news agency indicated that continuous rises in daily average temperatures, snowmelt, and river thawing from April 7-11 have exacerbated flood risks across Siberia, the Volga region, and the Central Federal District. This alarming trend heightens the threat to low-lying areas and transportation infrastructure, posing significant challenges to ongoing relief efforts.

The Russian government is mobilizing resources to address the crisis and provide assistance to affected communities. However, the magnitude of the flooding underscores the urgent need for coordinated efforts to mitigate its impact and support those affected by this natural disaster.
